The farmers thank the soil… fruits of love and perspiration
To own land is to protect its integrity, it is to share harmony and beauty at different times of day and seasons…. it is to feel part of its life cycle.
Autumn, harvest time, the final target and synthesis of all the work in the vineyard…. from the pruning to the manuring, from leaf-stripping to pruning grapes ….. if all this work is done with care combined with a dry and sunny climate the grapes will not drop off so easily in the vineyards, so the fruit will then be richer in taste and scent: crunchy grape skin, crunchy grape-seed.
Harvest, days of anxiety if the weather is damp and wet, but days of joy and satisfaction if the weather is clear and limpid with a nocturnal temperature range. After checking the grapes and alcohol strength on a daily basis, the days in which the grapes are then picked determine the outcome of an alive and complex product like wine.
Our harvest is scrupulously manual: only careful selection of the berries and perfect ripening can guarantee the type, the density and the character of the wine.
The grapes are picked and put into little cases and then taken immediately to the winery for the first part of the working process, this guarantees the fresh scent of must and the preservation of the precious aromas. When the doors of the wine cellar open out to the grapes coming in from the vineyard, we thank the heavens for this thin thread that links work to nature in an indissoluble way…… if our work is strengthened by the course of nature, the vintage will be excellent!
The cellar is infused with fermenting must: different aromas of fruit and flowers that completely fill our nostrils. And we drink and toast to the harvest together with our collaborators, Loris in the winery, Blerti e Rasim out in the fields.
